Olimjon Saidmamatov
Olimjon Saidmamatov is a researcher at the Faculty of Tourism & Economics of Urgench State University. Along with having a theoretical and scientific background in ecotourism, he practices ecotourism as local guide as well. He intends to integrate theoretical knowledge with practical experience in order to promote the tourism market of Uzbekistan, mainly in rural communities, such as Aral Sea region. The expected MOOC will diversify the traditional leanring practices and the learners who can not attend regular university teaching can mostly benefit from the MOOC on Ecotourism of Uzbekistan.
Dr Jonathon Day
Dr Jonathon Day, associate professor in Purdue’s School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, has over 25 years’ experience in tourism management. Dr. Day is committed to ensuring tourism is a force for good in the world. He is the coauthor of The Tourism System 8th edition, author of “Introduction to Sustainable Tourism and Responsible Travel”, as well as over 25 peer-reviewed articles in journals including Tourism Analysis, Journal of Travel and Tourism Marketing, Annals of Tourism Research, International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management. Dr Day has been involved in tourism development and marketing projects in the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Nepal, China, the Carribean and Colombia.
Dr Day will contribute expertise on international standards and best practices in ecotourism. He will support in the development of an overall framework for ecotourism into which the case studies can be integrated. He will also provide quality assurance during the project .
Dr.Umidjon Matyakubov
Dr.Umidjon Matyakubov - associate professor at the Faculty of Tourism and Economics of Urgench State University. He has a long-standing academic background on tourism subjects (sustainable tourism, tourism management). He has over 10 years of experience in the economics and tourism sector of Uzbekistan and has experience for training teachers in the Khorezm region in the directions "Tourism" and "Excursion" for the training course.
